Application Deadline:1 July, 2021
Since 1995, the German-Asian Programme has offered annual fellowships to Asian and German journalists aged 25 to 45.
For 2021, bursaries for journalists from South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan will be awarded, taking into account the Corona travel restrictions that apply in autumn 2021. If the conditions do not allow the programme to be carried out in autumn, scholarships will be postponed to 2022. For more details on how to apply, please refer to the documents section on the right (programme information 2021).
Applications for the PREMIUM fellowship 2021/2022Â are possible. However, the PREMIUM fellowship will only take place when the restrictions due to the pandemic are suspended.Â
Requirement
Journalists between the age of 25Â to 45Â years, who regularly contribute to newspapers, TV and radio media as well as online services, can apply. Very good English language skills (Toefl) and a strong interest in learning the German language are an important precondition for the application. For further information on how to apply, please refer to the pdf file on the right hand side.Â
Mode of Payments
All delegates of the programme receive a one-off payment of 4,000 Euro from IJP. This should cover most travel, food and accommodation expenses as well as health insurance. Payment by the host media is not to be expected.
