Cheshire East Council’s Business Interruption Fund

This is a discretionary grant scheme to support those businesses who have had their business operations affected by a coronavirus (COVID-19). The grant will be made available to those businesses who are able to demonstrate that after 19 July 2021 the business continued to be affected by the pandemic.

The circumstances in which a grant will be awarded are exceptional and COVID related.

Eligibility

The grant will be made available to only businesses and organisations trading from a property based in the Cheshire East Council boundary. One of the following must apply:

  • Business is operating at a reduced capacity due to staff shortages as a result of isolation requirements.
  • Business has had to close for operational issues due to COVID-19 outbreak or isolation requirements
  • The business cashflow has been disrupted as a result of a COVID-19 In addition the business must be able to evidence the cost of the interruption to business operations.

Businesses must apply to the Council via an online form in order to be considered for a grant payment. If an application is submitted with insufficient evidence or information it will be refused.

There is no right of appeal and the Council’s original decision will be final. Amount of Grant A grant of £500 per day up to a maximum of £10,000 will be paid to those business who meet the eligibility criteria and who can evidence the number of days of interruption to business operations.

Businesses should not contact the Council requesting an update on their application. The grant will be open to applications from 9am on Friday 24 September 2021 and will close for applications at midnight on Monday 28 February 2022 or before if the fund is fully committed before that date.

Application Procedure

If you have been asked to register on this site by your Local Authority, you need to provide the full information as requested on each form. Failure to do so will lead to a delay in the approval of the request, or the request not being granted at all.

You will need to provide all information requested to enable the Council to make a decision on the request you are applying for. This information is required to approve the request (such as your bank details and proof of ID) and to protect against fraud and abuse of public funds as well as to allow the Government to monitor the requests being made.
