The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center’s Women Leaders in Energy and Climate Fellowship 2024

Application Deadline:  April 30, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST.

The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center’s Women Leaders in Energy and Climate Fellowship is a one-year nonresident fellowship program for early to mid-career rising women leaders in the energy and climate fields.

Now entering its sixth cohort, the program provides professional development for young women by cultivating their leadership potential, facilitating mentoring sessions with senior women leaders in the energy sector, and providing opportunities for public speaking and writing. The program is open to women under the age of 35 with at least three to five years of experience in the energy and climate fields. For the 2024 cohort, Fellows must be based in Washington, DC.

Participation in the program includes the following professional development opportunities:

  • Participation in Atlantic Council events: The Global Energy Center hosts public and private events on energy topics throughout the year at its DC headquarters and elsewhere. The fellows will be included in Atlantic Council events where possible.
  • Publishing through the Atlantic Council: Fellows will have the opportunity to publish on the Global Energy Center’s EnergySource blog, and potentially write longer pieces if interested. They will be given editorial support and feedback, and the opportunity to help build their portfolio of publications.
  • Professional development trainings: The fellows will be offered professional development training, which will primarily focus on public speaking skills. The public speaking sessions are geared towards communication in a virtual setting and will teach fellows how to speak and moderate virtual panels, as well as general media communication skills.
  • Mentorship sessions: The program will host regular mentorship sessions with women leaders in energy and climate policy. These sessions are informal conversations that provide opportunities for fellows to ask women leaders questions about their career paths.
