The Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI-UNA ITALY), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), organizes the new edition of the “United Nations Youth Delegate Program – Italy” (hereinafter referred to as the Program ). To this end, one young woman and one young man will be selected to fill the role of UN Youth Delegate of Italy to the United Nations. The position will last one year from September 2024 to September 2025.
Requirements
The candidate must:
• At the time of sending the application, be no less than 20 and no more than 27 years old;
• possess Italian citizenship and the enjoyment of civil and political rights;
• attending a university course of study or having completed a university course of study;
• know how to use social media and other digital communication tools;
• be enterprising and show passion for civic engagement, United Nations activities and youth policies.
Language
The candidate must have excellent oral and written knowledge of the Italian and English languages. Knowledge of any other official language of the United Nations will be a preferential criterion.
It is suggested to attach any official language certificates (TOEFL, IELTS, DELF/DALF, DELE etc..).
Training
The candidate must preferably attend a degree course or have obtained a three-year degree or a second level degree in International Relations/Political Science/Law. However, graduates and university students from different educational paths can also submit their application, provided they possess the required knowledge which will be assessed during the selective oral interview.
Knowledge
The candidate must – during the selective oral interview – demonstrate excellent knowledge of:
• the structure of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the priorities of Italian foreign policy;
• the UN system and main policies;
• international law and international current affairs.
Skills
The required skills are:
• public speaking;
• team-working with people from different cultural contexts;
• excellent organizational and communication skills;
• digital skills in using communication tools.

- The candidate must complete in English the application form available online on the SIOI website at the following link , attaching or sending the required documents via email to application@sioi.org : CV in English (mandatory), language certificates (not mandatory), other certifications of experience relevant to the requirements of the announcement (not mandatory) and a 120-second video in English (mandatory), in which you briefly present your profile, promote your candidacy as Youth Delegate of ‘Italy at the United Nations and explain how to promote young people’s commitment to the implementation of the SDGs, no later than 6.00 pm on Monday 3 June 2024 .
