Application Deadline: October 16, 2024
Applications are now open for the British Council Next Generation Pulse Program. The British Council Research and Insight Team is seeking to commission a research consultant/s who will support in developing the concept for Next Generation Pulse, and proposing and designing a suitable research methodology, approach and guidelines for the new series.
Objectives
The objectives of consultancy opportunity are:
- Propose and describe a research methodology and approach for Next Generation Pulse that adapts and complements that used for the ‘full’ Next Generation research programme. The methodology should be creative and ensure that while the research is ‘light’ it still offers valuable insights. In line with the ethos of the full Next Generation research programme, the methodology should as far as possible incorporate participatory research approaches that actively involve young people in the design, delivery, analysis and dissemination of the research.Â
- In an accompanying report, provide a rationale for the proposed methodology and outline how a Next Generation Pulse project would differ from a ‘full’ Next Generation research project, describing the benefits and limitations (or pros and cons) of a ‘Pulse’ project vs a full Next Generation research project.Â
- Design template research tools, standards and guidelines for Next Generation Pulse, in line with the proposed methodology. These tools and guidelines should allow for a British Council country team to implement a Next Generation Pulse research study with the Research & Insight team in an advisory role. Â
- A consultation process with British Council stakeholders, agreed with the core team, resulting in a set of considerations to identify the most suitable countries for this sort of research, considering factors such as team capacity, potential impact, feasibility, cost-effectiveness and strategic importance.Â
- The final deliverables will include:
- Detailed methodology for Next Generation PulseÂ
- Methodology rationale and outline of pros and consÂ
- Research tools and guidelinesÂ
- Country selection considerations and criteria Â
