With a population of over 600 million, Southeast Asia is one of the fastest growing regions in the world. Despite this, ASEAN still faces many social, health & environmental challenges that impede its progress. ASEAN Data Science Explorers invite all ASEAN youths to help shape the future by harnessing data to highlight key issues in ASEAN. Use data analytics to propose solutions that can make a difference to its people.
Join the competition today if you are an ASEAN National with the age of 15 to 30 years and currently taking full-time education at educational institutions in Southeast Asia. Attractive Prizes await!
Eligibility
ASEAN DSE is open to individuals who:
Did not represent their country at the Regional Finals in preceding years
Were not the Top 3 Finalist from National Finals in preceding years
Have agreed and will adhere to the Terms and Conditions herein. By entering the competition, Participants confirm that they will be available to travel for regional competition
Are nationals of ASEAN member countries (ie. Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam)
Are youths currently undertaking full-time education in educational institutions (high school, university, polytechnic, etc.) based in the 10 ASEAN countries
Are youths aged 15 to 30 years old. Parental consent is required for participants under the age of 18
Submission Procedure:
1. Form Your Team
Check your eligibility and form a team of two from the same or different institutions. Ensure you and your partner have the same ASEAN nationality

2. Register Your Team
Round up your personal information and register online before the deadline
Step 3
3. Select Your Competition Theme & Collect Dataset
Select one key issue based on one or more of the 6 UN SDG themes and start gathering relevant datasets about the issue

4. Get Familiar With SAP Analytics Cloud
Download SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Manual and dataset sample to explore SAC and get familiar with it. When you want to develop an app using SAP Build Apps as a solution to address the issue in your storyboard, you can set up SAP Build Apps on an SAP BTP Trial Account. Also, you can attend SAC and SAP Build Apps enablement sessions.

8. Develop Your Storyboard
Start working on your storyboard after you get SAC access, the selected theme and SDG(s), and relevant datasets

7. Submit Your Storyboard
Submit your storyboard in PDF format through a submission button provided on aseandse.org during submission period

6. Wait for Shortlisted Teams Announcement
10 teams in each ASEAN country will be selected to compete at the National Finals

5. Prepare Powerpoint Presentation for National Finals
Three winning teams in National Finals will be awarded total cash prizes of USD1,400
