Application Deadline: March 15th, 2024
In line with the ongoing efforts to foster democratic governance and citizen engagement throughout Africa, the African Governance Architecture Support Project (AGA-SP), a collaborative initiative between the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU), implemented by Expertise France, is launching a new phase of its communication campaign. Named the Democratic Governance Roadshow, this initiative aims to amplify awareness about the AU organs and AGA-SP members, emphasizing their roles in advancing democracy, human rights, and the rule of law across the continent. As part of this campaign, the project is seeking dynamic youth and gender ambassadors to contribute to the creation of engaging video content.
Background
The Democratic Governance Roadshow campaign, initiated from September 2023 to February 2024, garnered significant attention by spotlighting the vital work of AU organs and AGA-SP members. These include the AGA-APSA Secretariat, the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, among others. Through compelling storytelling and creative assets such as social media banners, video interviews, and animations, the campaign successfully reached diverse audiences, sparking conversations on topics crucial to African citizens’ well-being and the continent’s future.
Purpose of Short Videos from Youth/Gender Campaign Ambassadors:Â

By creating short video formats, the ambassadors will highlight the significance of citizen participation in high-level political consultations, addressing issues pertinent to their futures and quality of life.
Video Requirements:Â
- The videos produced by the campaign ambassadors should focus on themes such as democracy, good governance, human rights, or the rule of law.
- They should be informative, aspirational, and thought-provoking, aiming to initiate meaningful discussions and encourage audience engagement.
- Technical specifications include high-quality resolution, subtitles in French and/or English, and a duration of 1 to 1.30 minutes
