The Global Institute of Resource Development (GIRD) is thrilled to announce the launch of the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) MSME Support Initiative in Ghana. With a primary focus on empowering nature-positive Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the environmental and natural resource sector, this initiative aims to catalyze sustainable growth and foster innovation among Ghanaian businesses.
Objective: GIRD invites potential and established nature-positive MSMEs in Ghana to apply for capacity support in the form of comprehensive training over a period of 12 months. The training will cover essential aspects of Business planning, Bookkeeping & Accounting, marketing strategies, online sales, and cross-border trade, all aligned with principles of environmentally sustainable production. Through tailored training sessions and mentorship opportunities, participants will gain valuable insights and skills essential for thriving in today’s competitive market while championing environmentally sustainable practices.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to nature-positive MSMEs operating in Ghana, both potential and established enterprises are encouraged to apply.
- Registered MSMEs in Ghana
- Nature-positive enterprises operating in the environmental and nature resource sector
- Commitment to environmentally sustainable production practices
Program Details
Duration: 12 months (starting in May 2024)
Focus areas: Business Planning, Accounting & Bookkeeping, Marketing, Online sales, cross-border trade, environmentally sustainable production
Delivery Mode: Blend of in-person and online sessions
Peer-to-Peer Mentoring: Participants will benefit from the peer-to-peer learning and mentorship, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the cohort.
