Applications are now open for the WEP Climate Justice Advocacy Mentorship Program. The Climate Justice Advocacy Mentorship aims to strengthen capacities of young African feminist climate activists on advocating for accelerated implementation of gender-just climate action and sustainable development (2030 Agenda) and addressing structural barriers to gender inequality.
Climate Justice Advocacy Mentorship is open to all eligible feminist climate activists in Africa.
Eligibility
- You must be an African
- Must be between 18-35 years old
- Must be a female
- You work with a women’s or gender organization or network with a focus on climate and gender justice.
- Your organization has affiliation with the global Women and Gender Constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or the African Women and Gender Constituency, or any other feminist or gender network.
Program Details
- The mentorship will last for a duration of 18 months.
- Successful candidates will undergo virtual and physical trainings on climate advocacy.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to participate at national, regional and global climate change meetings to gain practical skills and experience in climate change advocacy and leadership.
- Candidates will be expected to implement some climate advocacy initiatives in their home country after the completion of the programme.
