APHL Fellowship Programs

Application Deadline: February 28, 2022

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offer eight public health fellowship opportunities for recent graduates with a background in molecular biology, bioinformatics, public health, epidemiology, genetics, genomics, biostatistics, computer science, biology, or a related field. These programs include:

Bioinformatics Fellowship

Biorisk Management Fellowship 

Environmental Health Laboratory Fellowship 

Food Safety Laboratory Fellowship

Infectious Diseases Laboratory Fellowship

Informatics Fellowship

Quality Management Laboratory Fellowship

Newborn Screening Fellowship

Eligibility

  • A narrative statement
  • Current resume/CV
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts from all degree-granting institutions
  • Program-specific supplemental question
  • US citizenship or permanent residency

Application Procedure

  • Applications must be submitted online by February 28, 2022
  • Application review will begin after the deadline
  • Applicants will be notified of their status by April 2022; finalists will be invited to a virtual interview
  • Fellows will begin their assignments in Summer 2022 (flexible start date).
