ATLAS CORPS: BRAZIL NORTHERN STATES EMERGING LEADERS INITIATIVE

The Atlas Corps: Brazil the Northern States Emerging Leaders Initiative is partially supported by the U.S. Embassy in Brazil and is looking to engage 10 emerging Brazilian social change leaders from the Northern Region of Brazil in the Virtual Leadership Institute. Brazilian applicants from the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, and Tocantins are eligible to apply.

The goals of this initiative are: 1) to strengthen ties between the United States and Brazil to increase mutual understanding and cooperation in the areas of inclusive economic growth, empowerment of women and minority groups, and the strengthening of democratic values, and 2) to empower young civil society leaders and social entrepreneurs from Brazil.

Eligibility

— Be a citizen of Brazil;

— Be a resident of Brazil from and/or currently living in one of the following states: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins (candidates from other states should apply for our other programs at apply.atlascorps.org);

— Be aged 22 – 35 years old;

— Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;

— Be proficient in English (oral, writing, reading);

— Have two or more years of full-time professional experience working to generate positive impact, preferably in areas related to inclusive economic growth, empowerment of women and minority groups, or the strengthening of democratic values;

— Be committed to applying the knowledge gained to multiple the impact of their Atlas Corps experience, in Brazil;

— Be available to commit to approximately 3 hours of online activity and assignments per week for approximately 7 months;

— Have the technological capacity to participate in video calls which may be during working hours (1-2 per month); and

— Special consideration will be given to Brazilians who belong to a minority group or work on the inclusion of underrepresented groups.

— The necessary infrastructure needed to participate in the program will be provided;

— Lifetime enrollment in the global Atlas Corps Community (of 1,100+ social change leaders from 110+ countries) upon successful completion.
