Kick-Starting Entrepreneurship Program

The Kick-Starting Entrepreneurship program targets Niagara’s entrepreneurs and encourages them to explore their innovative ideas and advance their early-stage entrepreneurial aspirations. Cohort 9 of the program will be delivered in collaboration with Brock LINC and will provide up to 35 youth with seminars and events, plus mentorship and advisory services from Venture Development, Brock LINC and Innovate Niagara.

Eligibility

The Kick-Starting Entrepreneurship program is designed to help young entrepreneurs explore their business ideas and advance their early stage entrepreneurial aspirations. The program provides youth with free access to the following:
• Connections to the right resources.
• Training events and seminars to develop your skills and knowledge about entrepreneurship.
• Mentorship and advisory services.
• Meet and network with other entrepreneurs.

Please note that the Kick-Starting Entrepreneurship Program will run from October 1 – December 10, 2021. 2 seminars, training workshop or events will be planned per month. Virtual attendance at events, seminars and meetings will be mandatory to successfully complete the program.

This upcoming Winter cohort, delivered in collaboration with Brock LINC, will take place fully online, with synchronous, instructor-led workshops and seminars. All workshops and events will take place on Thursdays from 5:00-8:00 pm. The program will run from January – April 2022. The Kick-Starting Entrepreneurship program will leverage the expertise, programs and services at Brock University and within Niagara’s entrepreneurial ecosystem to provide aspiring youth entrepreneurs with these activities, training and resources that will help them experience entrepreneurship. Youth that are a part of this program will also have regular meetings with the Venture Development staff to work on their action plan and determine the next steps they need to take for their business to grow.
